She didn't get so much as a hello, let alone a goodbye. My sister turned one year old on Valentine's day the next month- it was a week or two just before Christmas- he was my stepdad, but that was her only dad. The doc that had been called in I think realized it was a lost cause and had the nurse take me outside- I couldn't even make use of my goodbye, not that he would have been aware of it at the time. I was too scared of him to hug him or say anything, I just stood there staring feeling overwhelmed. He was not lucid, very much incomprehensible due to pain. His skin had always been kind of reddish partially due to his long time drinking problem but he was a green-yellow-white pallor that I haven't seen since, there isn't much you can compare it to. She didn't want me to regret not getting to say goodbye or hug him one last time so she had me go in there with him. The nurse could tell his liver was shutting down within a couple of hours and they told my Mom as much. When I was eight in 1996, my stepdad, as far as I knew then he was my dad, was bedridden in our home due to alcoholic cirrhosis and was receiving palliative care. Hey, this is a possibly upsetting experience from my childhood in regards to my family I went through like kinda sad maybe but you know fair warning but I too was kind of forced to shrug and carry on It hit the hardest after Summer and Giovanni for me. He was there for so long for me (since I didn't know how to get Ectoplasm for a long time) it was a shock to see him gone. I am however sad, that the most cheerful guy just disappears. He needed no final goodbye from Stella (like Giovanni/Astrid/Gwen) or leave a lesson with her (like Summer/Gustav). With the final party, the Spiritfaerer, Stella, gave him everything he wanted/needed to pass on, so that's just what happened. They understood that it is time to go on, they reflected upon their key moments.Ītul on the other hand might not have gone to the Everdoor, i think he might not have been aware, that his regrets are gone. It is the job of the Spiritfaerer to help the Spirits to pass on to the afterlive.įor some, Astrid and Giovanni come to mind, the Everdoor is nevlcessary. I imagined, that, while for most Spirits it is necessary to go to the Everdoor, some may be able to pass on, when they don't harbor any regrets.
